Trademark Policy

Introduction

This document outlines the policy of MAKO Surgical Corp. (“MAKO”) regarding the use of MAKO Trademarks (defined below) in printed material and websites produced by authorized users of MAKO products. Any use of any MAKO Trademark must be in accordance with this policy. Uses that do not comply with this policy or have not been approved in writing by MAKO are not authorized.

MAKO Trademarks

The following trademarks are trademarks or registered trademarks of MAKO in the United States and/or other countries that are approved for use by authorized users on websites and in printed materials, including marketing materials, articles, and other promotional materials (“MAKO Trademarks”):

This listing of MAKO Trademarks will be updated periodically as additional trademarks are created and/or authorized for use.

Use of MAKO Trademarks

MAKO encourages the use of MAKO Trademarks in marketing and promotional materials related to MAKOplasty® or other relevant MAKO product. In using a MAKO Trademark, you must not mislead consumers as to any MAKO sponsorship, affiliation, or endorsement of your organization, products, or services. Additionally, the following requirements apply to the use of any MAKO Trademark:

Form – MAKO Trademarks should be used in the form shown above (e.g., RIO not Rio). MAKO Trademarks should not be abbreviated. Additionally, the term “MAKO” should not be used as an adjective.

Trademark Symbol – For uses of MAKO Trademarks in the United States, the first or most prominent mention of a MAKO Trademark should be accompanied by a trademark symbol indicating whether the mark is a registered trademark (“®”) or an unregistered trademark (“™”). Please refer to the listing above for the appropriate trademark symbol for each MAKO Trademark. For uses of MAKO Trademarks outside the United States, trademark symbols should be omitted.

Links

A link to MAKO’s website www.makosurgical.com may be included on your website provided the link is not used in a way that could confuse or mislead consumers.

Slogans and Taglines

Use of MAKO slogans or taglines, including but not limited to “Restoring Quality of Life Through Innovation®” is prohibited except pursuant to an expresss written authorization from MAKO.
Corporate Name and Logo

When referring to MAKO, use the full corporate name (i.e., MAKO Surgical Corp.) with “MAKO” written in all capital letters. Use of MAKO’s corporate logo is prohibited except pursuant to an express written authorization from MAKO.

Domain Names

If you want to include all or part of a MAKO Trademark in a domain name, you must obtain written permission from MAKO.
