Commercial Marketing Programs Manager

Position Description:
Responsible for leading the development and execution of marketing programs to attract patients, educate professionals, and develop regional consumer markets in order to achieve business goals. Work with sales and marketing to implement marketing programs. Train sales teams on needs and objectives of programs and channels and oversee their marketing efforts with hospitals and practice level customers. Meet with customers on various aspects of programs. Manage, monitor, and measure the success of programs. Ensure that the marketing program messages are compelling and further the product image and brand. A high level of leadership, creativity, resourcefulness, and management of multiple concepts, projects, and time lines must be applied regularly. Field-based position reporting into Commercial Marketing.
Departmental Responsibilities:
- Leads U.S. marketing programs to develop consumer markets and educate professionals on MAKO technology.
- Uses multi-channel approach to create new programs for MAKO and customers that may include public relations, media pitching, advertising, social media, Internet, events, consumer outreach, etc.
- Trains the sales team on marketing programs, establishes/tracks metrics for sales team, and manages their implementation and success of programs.
- Establishes long term, valued relationships with sales and customers.
- Works closely with commercial marketing team, agencies, and various vendors to design consumer communication materials including press releases, media pitches, Q&A documents, direct mail campaigns, brochures, videos, newsletters, sales tools, etc.
- Handles editing, writing, reviewing, and producing marketing materials.
- Establishes metric measures, collecting data, reporting results, and managing return on investment for programs and various tactics.
- Manages associated expenses and budgets.
- Provides routine internal and external communications on projects, activities, and opportunities.
- Ensures that materials carry the overall continuity and look of the company image, brand identity and messages.
- Works independently and in a team environment on projects and assignments with responsibility for all planning of work attainment of assigned objectives.
- Leads and manages in a highly complex environment with a wide variety of diverse elements from various disciplines to be considered in problem solving.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of ten (10) years of established medical marketing communication experience.
- Minimum of four (4) years experience working with hospital and practice marketing management.
- Minimum of four (4) years management experience in marketing
- Proven experience training and working with sales to leverage marketing programs.
- Prior position in orthopedic medical device and hospital marketing are desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver value programs with customers and sales.
- Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
- Ability to work in fast paced, dynamic situations with professionalism and tact.
- Strong computer skills in Microsoft office; Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Field-based position with 50-60% travel required.
