Assembly Technician III

Position Description

Position Summary Responsible for providing assembly, testing and facility support for all our production efforts. Assembles fabricated parts and assemblies at work stations. Tests, calibrates parts, mechanisms and complex assemblies to meet tolerances and product specifications. Uses hand tools and power tools to assemble units according to assembly / work instructions. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Works under minimal supervision, requires exercising some independent judgment and provides training to new employees.  


Departmental Responsibilities:

  • Manufactures & tests the production of our RIO Robotic Arm systems and components.
  • Electro-mechanical components, assemblies, equipment and machinery such as precision encoders, motors, brakes, instruments, controls robots, machines, etc.
  • Will assist in the identification of improvements in our assembly & work instructions & testing
  • Performs a variety of complicated technical and non-technical tasks
  • Identifies Quality & Safety improvements for the production team & overall company
  • Upholds the quality policies of the company
  • All employees will be managed through a MFG training skill set which could include exams & yearly/QRTLY performance reviews
  • All training requirements / expectations will be presented to the employee prior to signing the employee handbook
Qualifications:
  • 7-10+ years experience with a minimum High school education or equivalent & technical certification(s) or continuing education is desired.
  • Skill sets will include torque, soldering, crimping, ESD handling / knowledge, electrical circuit testing, transmission cabling, system testing & system troubleshooting.
  • Ability to solve problems by identifying relevant facts and key issues rapidly
  • Ability to read & interpret engineering drawings
  • Demonstrates the willingness and ability to adapt to technical requirements of assigned area
  • May be required to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty.
  • May be required to work on different ‘shifts’ depending on customer requirements.
  • Prior experience(s) working with a team

Our ideal candidate has all of the minimum qualifications listed above as well as, is detailed oriented, has excellent follow through, safety awareness, hands-on applications, computer literate and consistently demonstrates a can do attitude. The candidate must also have the ability and flexibility to work well under changing priorities in a high energy, demanding environment in order to meet our customer's needs.
