System Engineer, Robotics Design Transfer Team
Location:
Ft. Lauderdale, FL
Position Description:
Diagnose failures, perform root cause analysis, and suggest design improvements on our medical robotic devises in the field as well as in development. Develop formal test protocols for design changes, and manufacturability at subassembly and system level. Work on cross-functional team with mechanical, electrical, robotic & software engineers to develop testing protocols and complex electromechanical test equipment.
The ideal candidate will have a solid technical background, strong documentation skills, and hands-on experience with software scripting, mechanical & electrical experience on complex electromechanical systems.
Responsibilities:
- Troubleshooting and design of complex electromechanical systems
- Provide engineering support to in-house service & new products development, on root cause investigations & corrective actions to system problems
- Develop test protocols & reports for in process & system level testing
- Develop documentation that conform to FDA requirements
- Writing of software scripts to perform testing & troubleshooting of complex electromechanical systems
- Work with design engineers to establish specified system requirements
- Contribute to the development & execution of new product design transfers
- Conduct cross functional design reviews for newly developed processes & designs
Qualifications:
- 2 years experience designing, building, or testing robotic systems
- Experience in use of formal documentation systems
- Familiarity with a variety of sensor, actuator, motor, and controller technologies
- Solidworks, Matlab, Linux & C++ experience preferred
- Experience with FDA/CE/ISO design control procedures preferred
- BS Engineering degree with previous work experience preferred
