Commodity Manager
Location:
Ft. Lauderdale, FL
Description:
Develops, implements, and maintains a commodity that supports MAKO’s supply chain strategy. Evaluates market conditions in order to maintain inventory levels and control costs. Evaluates and recommends suppliers. Manages ongoing relationships with suppliers. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. May lead the work of others. Reports to Director of Supply Chain.
Departmental Responsibilities:
- Establishes and directs the organization's sourcing policies, objectives, and initiatives for a dynamic early-stage medical company
- Develop and implement supplier sourcing strategy to meet quality, cost, delivery and responsiveness targets
- Collaborate with Product & Business Development, Supplier Quality, Materials and Production to rationalize the supply base and monitor and adjust as required to meet business objectives and budgets
- Develop Long Term Supplier Agreements and leverages commodity Forecasts for delivery, inventory and pricing advantages
- Develop Metric set and scorecard to monitor and drive performance throughout the supply chain
- Facilitate and provide DFM / S improvements to CIP team for incorporation on future release versions of TGS
- Assist in development of a Make vs. Buy Sourcing process
- Drive NPI activities for Buy items from MAKO into the supply chain
Qualifications:
- Requires a bachelor's degree in related technical or business specialty with 8 + years of experience
- APICS-CIPM or CSCP, ISM-CPSM, or CSCMP Certification preferred
- A wide degree of creativity expected
